William (Billy) Harnett

William (Billy) Harnett,Professor of Molecular Immunology,Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.His career has been studying parasitic helminths, understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying immunomodulation by parasitic worm-derived products which has resulted in novel synthetic drug-like ES-62 small molecule analogues that mimic the parent molecule’s protective effects in mouse models of these conditions and which they are currently trying to drive towards the clinic.

Robert I Fox

Robert I Fox, Joined the faculty of Scripps Medical and Research Foundation in 1980 & serves as the "Skagg's Fellow for Translation of Basic Reach into Clinical Medicine." Specializes in the pathogenesis and treatment of Sjögren's syndrome and has written over 300 articlesl; has edited a number of journals and and a recent book entitled "Sjogren's Syndrome: Practical Guidelines to Diagnosis and Therapy."

He has pursued research interests as principal investigator in multicenter clinical trials and his own NIH funded research programmes. He serves as a member of a number of advisory boards. He received the Broadhurst Distinguished Faculty Award for Medical Research in 2005 from Harvard. Martin Aringer

Martin Aringer, Professor of Medicine and the chief of the division of Rheumatology of the University Medical Centre and Faculty of Medicince at the TU Dresden, Germany. His main scientific interests are SLE, other systemic autoimmune diseases, early arthritis, and cytokines and cytokine signal transduction. The last five years, he has been serving as the EULAR co-chair of the EULAR/ACR SLE classification criteria steering committee.

Dinesh Khanna

Dinesh Khanna, MD, MSc. Professor of Medicine and Director, University of Michigan Scleroderma Program. He is currently leading trials of abatacept, riociguat, pirfenidone, and tociluzimab in scleroderma. His current research focus on developing, validating, and refining outcome measures in rheumatic diseases and designing controlled trials.

Julie T. Li-Yu

Dr. Julie T. Li-Yu, Associate Professor of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila; Head of the Joint and Bone Center of the UST Hospital. President of both the Philippine Rheumatology Association and the Osteoporosis Society of the Philippines Foundation Inc. Her research expertise covers osteoarthritis, gout, SLE, and osteoporosis. She has contributed to local and regional guidelines and consensus statements on osteoporosis and gout.

SA Haq

Dr. SA Haq, Professor, Department of Rheumatology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). He is the President Elect of APLAR and served as APLAR-COPCORD coordinator, Vice President and Treasurer. He established the 1st Rheumatology clinic and founded the COPCORD Study Group in Bangladesh. He formed Bangladesh Rheumatology Society in 1997 and is the current President. His academic interests include Epidemiology of rheumatic disorders, knee OA and SLE.

Ira pande

Ira pande, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust was awarded PhD by King’s College London for her work on male osteoporosis. She joined the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust as Consultant Rheumatology and is also an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham. She discharges her clinical duties as a jobbing consultant but maintains her research interest working as principal investigator for the UK Clinical Research Network involved in a number of clinical trials across a spectrum of rheumatic disorders. She is actively involved in teaching a wide and involved with training and teaching for the Indian Rheumatology Association and runs MSK ultrasound courses for the British Society of Rheumatology.She is an active member of the American College Rheumatology Health Informatics Committee and working closely with NHS Digital, Royal College of Physicians and Professional Records Standards Body, UK to standardize terminology in rheumatology.
